    1068 gets hot

    Hi

I got a 6 months old Rotel 1068. Lately, even if it is off or standby mode, it gets hot than normally it should. Is this normal for the 1068 ?
I have to turn it off from the mains after each use.

    Hey Tony,

What do you mean "off from the mains"? Do you mean the switch at the back of the unit? Or the main ac power cord?
By my experience & knowledge, being off it should not get warm nor should it at standby.

BTW, is it being well ventilated?

    Itai.

      Hi Itai

I have to turn it off from the main ac power cord so that it doesn't get warm.
Even if it is on standby, it is still very warm. Is this normal ?

It's normal if you leave Zone2 on. Hit the zone button twice on the front and it should turn it off.

Sounds faulty to me, suggest you take it in for service.

My 1068 can very warm if used for a long period of time, but only with moderate volume levels. Last week I noticed zone 2 was left on overnight and it was barely warm. My wife also left the main zone on two nights ago and it wasn't warm at all. I think it's ventilation or something inside, IMO.

Thanks for the advise. I have turned off the zone2 last night. Will keep you posted with the result.

Turning off Zone2 pulled the trick. Now it is not warm at all.

                Thanks Kevin

                  SSP-800 warm in stand by?
                  by Joawen
I just got the SSP-800 (finally, waited so many years) and i love the soundstage this thing gives, the sound itself is different from my old CP-500 but not sure it's overall better. Just as good but different perhaps?

                  Anyway
when the SSP is in standby mode it is warm - is this...

Do you leave your RMB-1095 on standby ?
                  by tech_table
                  Hello everyone,

I'm new to Rotel, just bought an RSP-1068 and RMB-1095 before Thanksginving, I've been left both in standby, and used 12v trigger from the 1068 to turn the 1095 on/off, But I want to know, Do you leave the 1095 in standby ? or Do you turn off the 1095 completely after...

RSP-1068 standby mode & optical input glitches
                  by rofafor
I upgraded my hifi gears to Rotels in June. The RSP-1068 was an obvious choice and tested it with RMB-1075 amp too. However the RMB-1075 and my speaker setup (Amphion Argon 2) didn't bring the same feel of sensation as Genelec active speakers, so my RSP-1068 is now connected to a nice set of Genelec...

                  Rotel 1075 & 1068 sounds terrible! Defect?
                  by Tony
                  Hi!

I have a big problem. My Rotel 1075 & 1068 plays cruelly. The sound is too thin, without middles. No Dynamic. It sounds like from an old radio. No matter whether in stereo or home cinema. Everything sounds so hard. I changed the Speakers, before Sonus Faber, now Monitor Audio....

Questions about power indicators/LEDs on 1068 and 1075
                  by tennberg
                  Hi everyone,

I have two questions about newly purchased 1068 and 1075 for my HT system.

                  1. When I turn off the 1075 amp, the red LED turns off. Then, all 5 protection fault lights come on at the same time for a second, then shut down in unison. Is this normal? I could not...
