RSP-1068 standby mode & optical input glitches

I upgraded my hifi gears to Rotels in June. The RSP-1068 was an obvious choice and tested it with RMB-1075 amp too. However the RMB-1075 and my speaker setup (Amphion Argon 2) didn't bring the same feel of sensation as Genelec active speakers, so my RSP-1068 is now connected to a nice set of Genelec HT206B. I must be the only active speaker fan here - shame on you!

These HT-series speakers have a nice autostart feature, that switches the speaker on/standby, if any signal is detected or not. It's working very nicely, but if the RSP-1068 is on standby mode, the active devices connected into its optical inputs (xbox, set-top-box) do wake those speakers up. If I shut the RSP-1068 completely off (the switch on backplate), the speakers stay in standby as they should be.

So the optical inputs must be leaking signal into preout connectors in Rotel's standby mode. I've been a bit lazy and haven't checked the exact behaviour of preouts with oscilloscope yet - nor I have consulted my Rotel dealer/distributor about the matter. Before I'll do that it would be nice to know, if this is already known feature or is my unit just defect? Is it a plain software problem (like some essential components aren't driven into powersave mode) with a correction in next firmware release or is there a bug in Rotel's hardware design?

Otherwise I've been very pleased with my RSP-1068. Well, a firewire/i.link input and balanced preouts would be nice additions

    1068/1075 STANDBY Mode
    by chanlon
    Hello guys,

Just wondering is it Ok to leave my RSP1068/RMB1075 combo in standby mode while I am either asleep or gone to the office? I am using the 12V trigger switches on these units and thus find it a pain to be "maunally" pressing the power buttons.

    I guess...

RSX 1055 locked out on standby power
    by johnvb
I've owned this receiver for about 1 1/2 years now, from day one the remote control/ ir strength has been really weak. I originally set the powering up of the unit with the "direct" mode, because of the POS remote response.

I recently upgraded to a MX-500 universal remote. After...

    RSP1068 display bug
    by csuzor
I have a repeatable bug on the display of the RSP1068:

When changing from External Input (universal player) to another input (such as Tuner which is actually a satellite tuner) with an optical input (and it's currently ON, with 48k pcm), the display continues to show "BYPASS"...

    RMB-1075, RM-1050 in standby mode
    by briandx
I'm trying to set up my 1066 to trigger my two amps on when the 1066 is fully on. I've followed the instructions to do this, and when I put the 1066 in Standby, I do hear some clicking from the amps.

However, the power buttons are still illuminated on the amps, so I can't tell if the...

    Preamp choices: RSP1068 or RSX1056 or AVR3805?
    by csuzor
Is the better choice the RSP1068 or RSX1056 for pre-amp duty?

I will add the RMB1066 (in bi-amp mode) or the RMB1075.
I am upgrading from a denon1804 to drive B&W700series in 5channels only (no sub yet)

Being budget limited, choosing the RSX1056 allows me to...
