RDV 1040 displays DVD pluge?

    RDV 1040 displays DVD pluge?

    Last night I attempted to calibrate my system using the Digital Video Essentials disk from Joe Kane Productions. When it came time to adjust brightness and contrast my RDV-1040, or my Sony KV27-FD16, was not able to produce the DVD pluge, or below black calibration bars. I don't know which device is incapable. My question is this; does the rotel rdv-1040 display such imagery? I hope it's the television's inability to display the blacker than black bars since I just purchased the DVD player.

              I just finished hooking up everything to the new RLC-1040 conditioner. The first RLC-1040 i had was Faulty so got it replaced by another one which works perfect so far.

              I listened to some music today from my RDV-1040 and it sounded more clear than ever when hooked up to the RLC-1040....
