    RMB 1066 in BRIDGED MODE??

I am considering purchasing an RMB 1066 to go with my RSX 1055. What I would do is run the 1066 in BRIDGED Mode giving 3 X 150 W for my fron speakers Paradigm Monitor 7, and CC 370. these speakers are 8 ohms and faairly sensative (about 93 db on the 7s) I would let the internal amps on the 1055 run the rears.

My question is has anyone used a RMB 1066 in bridged mode? What were the results. Is the sound quality I could expect better or worse than non bridged amps.

I have already received some info from the seller and don't sdoubt him just I'd like some more input or experience to go on.

Just make sure that your speakers are 8ohms as the amp sees each as 4ohms. I've emailed Rotel about the specs of the amp in bridged mode and was told SNR/THD are the same as in stereo mode. Damping factor is halfed but still more than enough to control the speakers. To be quite honest when I ran my 1066 in bridged mode the only difference I could make out was the fact that it was louder(3db increase). Clarity, soundstage, etc all sounded the same.

            Hi,

While lokking for a power-amp to go for 7.1 i think the rb-1070 or a bridged rmb-1066 would be fine. But i wonder which would be...

RMB 1066: has the ground pin or not?

I was thinkin to add a (bridged) RMB-1066 to my 1095 for back surround channels and one more central (processor is 1098). I was wondering if the 1066 has the ground pin in the power chord or not. Can anyone help me?
            Thx,

I would like to get some thoughts on the change over of my system. I purchased a RB 1070 about a month ago, and I am looking to switch over to separates in the next couple months. My current system is:

            Denon 3802 (will be upgarded)
            RB 1070 powering the fronts
            Toshiba SD...

            RMB-1066 or 3xRB-1050?
            by chrispy35
            Hi all,

I'm planning on moving to external amps in the hope of one day getting a dedicated AV processor.

The obvious all-in-one solution to start with is the RMB-1066. Has anyone used this amp? Has anyone used it in bridged mode? How would it compare to 3 RB-1050's?...

Perhaps this question has been answered before but I haven't been able to find a specific answer from someone who has actually done what I am planning.

I have a stellar 2 channel setup with a Linn 5103 preamp, Linn Klout amp and a pair of Keilidh speakers running off various sources....
