    1055 with no DLP IIx

As per my previous thread, I am looking into getting a 1055, but would like to make sure I understand what I am missing over the 1056.

3.1# If I understand correctly the 1055 has NEO6 but not DPLIIx like the 1056, so you can still play 5.1 form DPL and stereo source, and play 6.1 using NEO6. So what will I actual miss, aside from presumably better Surround from IIx?

3.2# And about this presumably better Surround quality of IIx over NEO, how much of a difference can you hear?

    Thanks,

Thanks for the link, it talk about the 55 vs 56, but not about DPL IIx?

From what I read, the only thing it add is creating discrete for 6th and 7th channel. So no improvement when you have a 5.1 setup, right?

As per my previous thread I am looking into getting a 1055 or 1056 and would like to be sure of what I am missing vs what I am paying extra?

As a recent poster indicated that the 1056 sounds better, as well as a few other poster in this and other boards. And a larger number of poster...

          1055 vs 1056
          by calli
          Hello,

I am interested in the new rsx 1056. Now does my dealer say that probably the 1055 is off a better quality because both receivers have the same price and the 1056 has more features he thinks the quality off te 1056 will be lower than the 1055. My question is are there more changes...

          1055 vs 1056

I just upgraded my 1055 with the 1056. I am using the system with the 1075 amp. I definitely like the new 1056, both in terms of features and sonic quality. I like to hear experiences/comments from the fellow 1056 users/upgraders. What do you think?

          RSX 1055 vs 1056 MULTI input ?
          by Ijon_Tichy
Based on reviews, it seems clear that the 1056 does audio better than the 1055 due to better DAC's and electronics.

But if the MULTI input is just a pass through, is there going to be an audible difference between these two models when feeding analog from an HTPC, DVD-A, SACD, etc?...

Upgrading from 1055 to 1056 worth it?
          by Toolatecrew
Has anyone done this? I have not even asked my dealer about this just throwing it out as an idea. If anyone has done this what did they cherge you. My RSX 1055 is less than 1 year old and has been 100% well taken care of. If someone said my dealer did this for $100 and I heard an improvement and I gained...
