RSX 1055 vs 1056 MULTI input ?

    RSX 1055 vs 1056 MULTI input ?

    Based on reviews, it seems clear that the 1056 does audio better than the 1055 due to better DAC's and electronics.

    But if the MULTI input is just a pass through, is there going to be an audible difference between these two models when feeding analog from an HTPC, DVD-A, SACD, etc?

    Note: Assume that the 1055 has the BM fix (disconnected BM circuit).

      Tjon,

      I believe the difference in the Mult-inputs is small (better op-amps and other componentd in the Analog chain but you can hear it on revealing material and speakers... Down to a cost vs benefit decision for you!

          Attached is the latest (that I know of) firmware for the RSP-1068, RSX-1056, & RSX-1067. It's not on Rotel's website as the fixes it add's do not effect 99.9% of users out there.

          Hello,

          I just upgraded my rsx-1055 to the latest version which is 2.30.

          Now I'm not sure if it's a side effect of this firmware update, but when using the multi-input, I can increase or decrease the sub level and I can really hear it.

          I'm using the remote...

          I am interested in the new rsx 1056. Now does my dealer say that probably the 1055 is off a better quality because both receivers have the same price and the 1056 has more features he thinks the quality off te 1056 will be lower than the 1055. My question is are there more changes...
