    1068 vs B&K ref50 s2

I listed a similiar posting in the B&K forum, doesn't seem like much activity there.

I currently own the 1068, and although happy, interested in comments. Also, using Sig 805s and soon the HTM4s teamed with an Aragon 3005, along with an Arcam DV89 and Rega Planet 2000.

The 1068 does excel in HT, but I could use more dynamics in 2 channel. I seek additional lushness, a more textured sweet sound. I would enjoy more weight and fullness, however remaining relaxed and smooth but not muddy or bloated.

    Thanks, Ron

Have you considered using a seperate stereo preamp with processor loop in/out?

That way you get best of both worlds, but add an additional component.

I know rotel makes some stereo preamps, not sure if they have a procesor input.

Thanks for the input, I actually did own the RC1070. Fully enjoy it, h/w my goal was to downsize to 1 main system. As a result, I upgraded my old 1066 with the 1068.
      Now seeking further audio bliss.

It would still be ONE system, but just an additional piece for stereo only applications.

I don't think any multichannel pre/pro will compare with a dedicated stereo preamp.

Same would apply to amplifiers. Not sure how much better its gonna get unless you goto the anthems that everyone seems to make as the benchmark.

          Understood. My bad.

I agree when I owned the RC1070 there was something different sounding in comparison to even the 1068 running in "bypass" direct mode. The 1070 always was a cut above the 1068.

I have been really happy with the Aragon multi channel amp, 5x300w. If I were to expand to 7.1 then adding the dedicated stereo amp would be magically.
Does a stereo amp, all things consistant. always prevail over a multichannel amp?
I thought with the way the multi channels are designed today it can pull in enough reserve to meet even the most demanding load be it 2 channel or 5.1

I have heard great things as well regarding the Cinenova beasts, but jumped on the Aragon at a good price.

I haven't been in the market for amps so haven't done any serious listening. However, on paper, keypoint PAPER...stereo amps typically have better specs than their multi-channel counterparts.

I'm sure other people will chime in here to back this up or refute it.

              1056 or 1068 with RMB 1075
              by luszer
Interested in hearing if the 1068 is far superior over the 1056 if I plan on using my current 1075 amp

Will there be a noticable difference with the 1068 over the 1056 with the 1075 powering the 5 channels

              Thanks, Ron
