1075 or 1068 defective? Weird error!

I own a 1075 and a 1068 and now, my Rotel combination seems defective. If I switch both devices on, the left Surround channel is sometimes mute. If I make the 1068 off and then on, is the left Surround channel again there. After short time is the left surround channel many quieter than the right Surround channel. What is defective for? All cables are correct. I have nothing changed in the menu. Is 1075 defectively or 1068?

When you notice the channel "muting" try playing the test tone through it. If this plays fine then it is just the source material. Depending on your'e source you may not hear anything from the surround channels, regardless of the surround mode that is selected.

It is "qiuter" or "muted"? Maybe you have just set the left surround to be quieter than the others. have you checked this?
All the best and good luck,

It might be best to contact your dealer to guide through some trouble-shooting steps.

You could take the pre in cable for that channel at the amplifier and switch it with the other surround channel and see if it stays with the pre/pro or amplifier.

I have the cables changed and the errors move always. The 1068 is defective :M Also could the cable be broken? It is a Oehlbach Blue Magic multi-cable.

Do you have a spare cable to swap out with the the one that the errors move with, that would be a good test.... Then if it fixes it you know it was the cable...if not it's probably something with the 1068...

Now are you swapping out both end of the cable or just the one on the side of the 1068?

I'll give it a second try: You bought the unit from an authorized dealer, correct? If so, contact your dealer, who can be of tremendous assistance in troubleshooting. I just shake my head at these threads because everyone here, good folks genuinely trying to help, are only guessing.

I give you right that there is only assumptions. My dealer lives 1 autohour far away and he wants 1068 to Rotel to send. Perhaps I can repair the error with the help of the forum. Perhaps is it only the cable? I test straight!

So, the 1068 was defective and was exchanged from my dealer. Now everything sounds again perfectly.

Since I own a new DVD Player, the 1068 has only two Centimeter place upward in order to air. Is that enough? To the rear the shelf is half open. In the guidance 10 cm are located. Can the 1068 in such a way harms to suffer?

This is the EXACT same problem I'm having with my THIRD 1068 unit. The left surround has a mind of it's own. It will sometimes play, and other times, the sound will be totally muted. The first unit burned out on my within one week of purchasing the unit; electrical burning combined with a static noise from my speakers, and then three dead channels. The second unit would not power on. The third unit was bench tested by the US distributor only to have this problem after one week of use again. I'm in the midst of getting an uprgraded unit to the 1098 from Rotel. I know that Rotel has a 5 year warranty on their products, however, the frustration and energy that I've spent on this whole rather unpleasant experience has made me think twice about Rotel. This is the final straw. If the 1098 does not perform perfectly, I'm taking everything back to my retailer for a full refund. I wish I had come across this site before purchasing my Rotel pieces in Feb of 2005. May is coming up soon...and I still don't have a fully functioning system. If I were to do it all over again, I would not buy Rotel.

Questions about power indicators/LEDs on 1068 and 1075

                                Hi everyone,

I have two questions about newly purchased 1068 and 1075 for my HT system.

                                1. When I turn off the 1075 amp, the red LED turns off. Then, all 5 protection fault lights come on at the same time for a second, then shut down in unison. Is this normal? I could not...

                                Connection on RSP-1068 / RMB-1075

So if I went with the 1068 and 1075. I'm going to connect the front, center and rear to the 1075. Where do I connect the sub? Would I have to get another amp? Would I be better getting the RSX-1056 and 1075 instead?

Size & weight of shipping boxes for 1068&1075
                                by Jonas78
                                Hi,

I would be very happy if someone could give me the dimensions and shipping weight of the boxes for these two products:
                                RSP-1068 & RMB-1075

The reason for this is, so I can estimate what the shipping cost would be for these products.

                                Thanks...

I had a chance to visit my local Rotel dealer today. WOW was I amazed. I've been thoroughly happy with my Sony ES receiver, past experience with Harman Kardon, and generally budget-friendly hifi equipment.

I feel the bug coming though... I saw the 1068/1075 and auditioned them with...

New gear (1068+1075), too stupid to get any sound?

Trying to setup my 1068 and 1075. Have my interconnects going from the preouts on the 1068 into the 1075 and the 1075 is on (with no protection lights lit).

No matter what type of source i try (analog w/ an ipod, optical with my dvd player), I can't seem to get a peep out of the speakers....
