Stero Preamp ? Help me choose.

Hi,

I am looking for a 2 ch. pre-amp. I own a ASL AQ2004, RB-1090 and Polk's LSi15.

Any suggestions ?

I have been looking at Rotel 1090, Parasound P3, Rogue Audio 99, Quad 99 and Quad 24. Price range is $500-$1500 max.

I know that they are not in the same price range but I will be buying used, to get best value for money because I doubt if used gear makes a diff. except in case of processor.

In Albany. NY, there isnt much you can see or hear and also listening it in a shop doesnt give you right impressions because of diff. gears and acoustics. I went to the local Rotel dealer he played some Cristmas songs, he couldnt find any other CD. No comments or any thing so it didnt help. They are more keen on selling a Mcintosh, which is beyond my reach.

So please help me take the right decision, if you have ever compared or owened any of these.

Talk to your'e Rotel dealer, try the RC-1090, and or the RC-1070, take it home and try it. Most of their dealers are pretty easy to deal with and I am sure if after a week Rotel isn't what you want they would give you your'e money back. I found a dealer here in Mpls/St.Paul who is this way. I tried an adcom GFP-750 ($1500) b-4 I bought an RC-1070, but as time goes on I am becoming more biased. On a side note I have noticed on all new Rotel gear I have purchased it takes a couple of weeks for them to loosen up. They sound good out of the wrapper, butt a little on the tight side, but ya give em a couple of weeks, and they really start to perform......
