    RSX-1055 6.1/7.1 Downmix to 5.1?

I can't disable the rear center channel in the menu system (only options I have are 1 speaker or 2 speaker), so I'm wondering...does the receiver automatically downmix a 6.1 or 7.1 DTS ES/DD EX soundtrack to 5.1 if there is no amp connected to the rear center outputs or if the fronts were not redirected?

You ought to be able to set that speaker to none so simply choose one rear speaker then set it to none and you'll be fine.

Just above the option for setting the Number of rear speakers, there is the option of what type the rear speaker(s) is/are. So, set the type of the rear speaker to "none" and then the number of rear speakers setting is disregarded.

I can already hear quite a difference in the rear channels...

          RSX1055 Subwoofer on, off, max?
          by Al K
When in the on screen display RSX1055 speaker input, there are three choices for the subwoofer ( sub= yes, none, max). When and why would it be appropriate to use the MAX position? Any help appreciated.

I have an older RSX1055 with original version of firmware. Recently hooked up two CB speakers and utilized the redirect feature in the on display menu. Initially the RSX1055 would reset the redirect back to front speakers. I called Rotel and was told to update the firmware. Then I called...

          Hi Guys,
I have posted in the past about Rotel but ended up with a Primare ht amp which I did like but was frustrating to use and frustratingly unreliable so it's been sold and I'm back to Rotel again.
My plan is to have a 2 ch and surround using the same speakers but with a ht amp...

          RSX 1055 DD/DTS downmix - help!
          by gianni
I am temporarily with out a center channel.

While watching Gladiator in DTS I selected DTS DOWNMIX with the 2CH button and this made the dialog louder and easier to understand.

I tried the same thing using DD on a couple of discs and it made no apparent difference. Is this...
