    New to forum

Hi everyone. After a few weeks of research i have decided to buy the Rotel rsx-1055 to replace my aging Denon avr-2700. I will be picking it up in 2 weeks and will let everyone know my thoughts on it at that time.

Until i read the posts here i was planning on upgrading to the Denon 3803. I listened to the Rotel at a local stereo shop and liked what i heard. The owner said that the rsx-1055 would be a much better upgrade than the 3803. The wattage defference between the two was a mild concern until i read the posts here. I discovered what all of you must already know, when Rotel says 75x5 they mean it. Also, the build and sound quality in my opinion are much better with the Rotel.

    My system specs are:

    Rotel rsx-1055 (soon)
    Denon DVD-1600
Paradigm Studio 20's (mains and rears)
    Paradigm cc-370
    Paradigm Ps-1000

Just wanted to thank all of you for your help in this decision. I am new to forums in general and i found this one to be incredibly informative.

Welcome to the club you've made a very wise decision with the Rotel. I've owned several Denon receivers and while they're not horrible the Rotels are clearly more musical sounding..plus the support is first rate.

Yes, a hearty welcome to HTGuide.

Not to put down Denon because they make some fine equipment, but, to me, Rotel is a step up the sonic staircase. And also very pleasing to the eye. One other thing about Rotel being smaller than denon, you don't seem to get lost in the shuffle as much with regard to customer service.

used Rotel vs HK, Denon, Onkyo
          by stjoenewt
I am looking to get into HT and with my budget, am limited to $1K for a receiver. That would mean an HK AVR525, Denon AVR2803/3803, or Onkyo SR800. the Rotel RSX1055 is slightly out of reach, but with the introduction of the 1098, I may be able to pick up a used one on Audiogon.com. OK Rotel owners,...

          24 vs. 16 bit on DVD-A with RSX1055
          by hal
I had a chance to audition a Denon 2900 with the Rotel RSX1055. I was very impressed by red-book playback as well as SACD & DVD-A. I realized after returning the 1055 that the Denon had been set to output only 16 bit for DVD-A so when I listened via the coax cable I was not at full resolution. Can...

          Rotel 1056 v. Denon 3805
          by Scherr
I have a Denon AVR-2800 running Paradigm studio 40's, 20's, and CC, v.2, and a PW-2200. Since the Denon 2800 only has preouts for the fronts and center and I use the "B" speaker input for a second zone so I need a new receiver rather then adding just an amp.

          I am leaning toward...

Decent pre-amp for 2 channel use with RSX1055???
          by OakIris
I have heard good things about the RMB1075, but I can't find one on the used market, and I can't afford to pay $1000+. Just wondered it there is a cheaper Rotel model that would work, or another brand that would pair well with the Rotel RSX1055.

My mains are B&W CM4s. I do have...
