    1095 and 1075 questions

    Hi,

I'm a first-time Rotel buyer and am doing a demo of the 1067 at home right now. I'm trying to decide if I should go up to the separates instead. I can't wait to get all my stuff setup.

I have a couple 1075/1095 questions. Do they use the WBT style binding posts? The 1067 I'm demoing now has those, and I really like them - but the demos of the amps that my dealer had on-hand had standard binding posts. Maybe the demos my dealer is using are older versions? Also, are they bi-wireable on the amp side using 2 separate runs of cable? Right now I use a more common bi-wire setup - where the speaker cable is standard on the amp side and bi-wire on the speaker side. If it's possible on the amp side, is there any real improvement on using 2 separate cable runs vs the normal single cable bi-wire?

Thanks for taking the time to read!

IMO separates are the only way to go. Get a good amp and you'll never have to upgrade, unless you have the upgrade bug. But processors change all the time.

This is a picture of an rb1080. The type of binding posts on this are the same as the current 1095. I just got my 1095 2 weeks ago and they are identical.

As you can see with the 1080, you can run 2 completely separate cables from the amp to the speakers. The 1075/1095 doesn't have that option. I'm using MIT biwire cables from my 1095 to my def techs. I don't think you would notice any difference between 1 run of a good biwire cable and 2 runs of cable. I didn't.

IMO - there really is not that big a difference between the old binding post and the new ones. In fact, if you have cables with spades, then I prefer the old ones, as you can use a wrench to ensure that they are firmly connected - you cant do that on the new ones..
But the newer ones look better - but since it is on the back, then really who cares..

            Got my 1095 today
            by hired goon
            G'day,

Finally traded in my RMB-1075 for an RMB-1095. Matched with an RSP-1068 pre/pro and an RCD-1072 CD player.

I was alternating between the 1095, or keeping the 1075 and adding an RB-1080. I chose the 1095 because (a) it's better to have too much power than not enough...

I have just spent a small fortune on my first surround sound system. I have the Rotel RMB-1095 amp with a RSP-1066 processor. Long speaker cable v's long RCA's ?
            by Stev
I am going to puchase a RB 1070 or 1080 to run the mains from my RSX 1056. I have the 1056 about 15 meters from the mains - so I can run 15 m of biwire speaker cable from the amp or put the amp close to the speakers - say 2-3m and run long rca's from the 1056 to the amp. Which would be the best option...
