I just got my parasound setup and its awesome. However, how do you go about DVD menu on LCD on the C1. I have all DVD hooked up through the component input and componnent out to the tv. Do you hookup an additional s-video out from the DVD to the OSD input on the C1 and if you do this does the C1 automatically upconvert the video signal to component video for the actual TV viewing since both component video and s-video are running to the controller?

Iceman: Congrats on the Parasound purchase! A few things:
1. The LCD video display on the C1 will ONLY display video that is sent via composite video, which is the single RCA video cable that normally has a yellow plug.
2. The C1/C2 does not currently do any transcoding, taking a composite or S-Video signal input and sending it out via component. Talking to Parasound reps about this issue, it is something that may be offered in the future as an upgrade. But Parasound is not willing to compromise on quality, and will not even consider doing transcoding until they have developed the system necessary to do so with no degradation to the video signal. (this is the same approach they take to all potential future upgrades)
You already have the best connection for sending video from your DVD player to your TV by doing so through component video, so keep it that way. What you need to do, then, is hook up an ADDITIONAL single yellow composite cable to your DVD player (and any other video source you use like a VCR) for the sole purpose of previewing the video on the C1 LCD screen.

by DanielfHi all,
I am an owner of a 1098. I have an XBOX 360 with component out that I have plugged into the 1098. I am trying to get the picture BOTH on my projector through component, AND on the LCD display. The video out kit on the xbox has a switch to switch between HD (720p, 1080i or 1080p)...-

by >>Angel<<Dear Rotel enthousiasts,
Yesterday I bought a Pioneer plasma screen to complete my Rotel setup
After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.
I really hope...-

by pedalmikeWhen the RDC-7 outputs a video signal, I assume it has to be the same cable type that is coming in.
For example, I can't have a VCR coming into VIDEO 1 through a composite input, and output it to my display through the Video 1 component outputs...I must use Video 1's composite out...correct?... -
by radurayI purchased a second hand 1068 about a year ago when I upgraded my sound system. It's been running well with my old SD TV system switching S-Video. I just got a Sharp 42D64U HDTV and connected it using Component Video. Component cable from the cable box to the Rotel and another compontent cable...-

by mhutchinsI have an old Proxima 5800 that has been great for the occasional presentation around town. I've decided to use it with my playstation 2 and I'm having mixed results. I've connected the Playstation to a VCR and connect to the 5800 via a Video component cable (the yellow one). At first the games run... - Loading...
