I have an old Proxima 5800 that has been great for the occasional presentation around town. I've decided to use it with my playstation 2 and I'm having mixed results. I've connected the Playstation to a VCR and connect to the 5800 via a Video component cable (the yellow one). At first the games run just fine but about 10 minutes into it the video drops out and I get a white screen. Can still hear the audio just fine and the lamp is plenty bright. I'm not sure exactly what's happening with it. If the video never worked from the beginning I'm sure it was a resolution mismatch of some type. But in my case it drops out after a few minutes of operating just fine. I also reset the projector by letting it cool, turning it off, back on and have the same results. Works fine for about 5-10 minutes and then the video drops out. Any Ideas?? ;x(

Uhh no, not really.... The only thing I can think of is that the VCR is shutting itself down after ten minutes (not uncommon) and doesn't pass the image through. Are there no other ways of connecting the ps2 to the projector? The yellow cable (we call it "composite" in the Netherlands en use the term "component" to refer to the red, green and blue cable) is really the worst connection that you can make. Also, by using a different, and a more direct one (so without the vcr), you can more easily determine the problem.

by toychrisI was wondering if any of you could give me a good reccomendation on a VCR. Is there any VCR's with component outputs that are reasonably priced? I am guessing that VCR's Video output is relatively low anyway, so s-video outputs would give about the highest quality of picture, right? I know that JVC... - Loading...
