    Halo P3 vs. Rotel 1066

    Hi,

Had anyone of you the chance to compare both products? At the moment I have a Rotel 1066, but the chances are very big that I will sell the Rotel 1066 and go for the P3. A C1/C2 is not an issue at the moment, most of the time I listen to music anyways.

If I compare the price of above mentioned products I think the P3 should be better in stereo then a R 1066, maybe someone could tell me more.

    Kind Regards,

    Whistler

Well if you go with a P3 you will only be listening to 2-channel sources as it is only a 2-channel processor and not a 5,6,7.1 pre/pro so you would still need to have the 1066 for any multi-channel source listening. unless you are planning on doing away with all multi-channel listening?

      Hi,

Fact is that I have only 2 speakers at the moment, money aswell free space is an issue. The speakers I currently have will be replaced this year at the end of the summer or near Christmas.

I really don't miss the rest of the speakers because I've never watched a movie with 5.1 - 7.1 in my own room. I allways watched it by using only 2 front speakers.

Another fact is that 90% of the time I use my system it is just plain Audio-CD. I don't like DVD-Audio and SACD, the sound get's messed up etc...

I really prefer a better 2CH- pre, a P3 would fit well in there .

      Regards,

      Whistler

Well then I would say go for it!

I love the sound of the C2 and I had a 1066 and also I brought home a Rotel 1098 and the Rotel amp and I liked the C2 better.

If I were going to do a 2-channel (which I have been considering) I would get a P3 and a nice two channel amp, perhaps a tube amp and a pair of the Totem Winds and I would be very happy.

          Hi,

          I bought the P3, it's a beauty . I will install everything in a few minutes, I got a headache so I won't be listening much today.

          * I allready have an A21 .

          I will post the impressions later "2 - 4 weeks" .

          Kind Regards,

          Whistler

            rsp-1068 vs rsp-1069 2channel
            by dooher
Have a room I can't do full surround in, so I currently have the Oppo BDP-83se, with the dedicated 2-channel, connected to an rsp-1066/rmb-1075' and I'm thinking doing a modest upgrade to an rsp-1068, or rsp-1069. My question is this, is there a significant difference in the 2-channel audio performance...

            What's a fair price for the 1066?
            by P-Dub
            Argh, lost my post.

I'm walking along the street, minding my own business when I get sucked into this store. Inside is this sale and the 1066 just happens to be on 'special'. I know the 1068 is the latest, but I figure the 1066 would fit my needs.

            The Club is awesome so...

Well, I was finally able to put together a nice audio/HT system recently, and I stumbled upon this great forum. The info here is great!

I do have a question about the RSP-1066's BM. I know that in stereo mode, the sub crossover setting does not apply a high-pass filter to the main speakers,...
