I was wondering if the Parasound-2500u had the U written on it or that just meant it was an upgraded unit but still had Parasound-2500 on the back. Someone sold me a Parasound-2500 that had the 5.1 inputs and bass management upgrade. They called it the 2500u. So I was just wondering if there were ever units sold with 2500u printed on the back. Not sure on this one, but many manufacturers add a "u" to the end if it's a unit that is a "universal" model of the product, such as having dual voltage to be plugged in worldwide.

The AVC-2500u is the later production model of the AVC-2500 that has the Bass Management Upgrade preinstalled from the factory.
The AVC-2500 can be upgraded to AVC-2500u level and beyond. See:
As you can see, even the AVC-2500u does not have all the options like HDTV inputs and 5.1 volume control.
AFAIK, the 2500u does not have the letter "u" printed on the front or rear panel.
