Best way to get a set of 802 Diamonds down to the basement?

Is it possible to leave a set of 802 Diamonds (D2) in their boxes while carrying down a flight of stairs in a house? We have always taken them out in the past but i'm worried that we should have an extra layer of protection when carrying them. Any thoughts?

Mine went up two flights of stairs in boxes so can't see why they wouldn't go down

I know this is an old post..... but if anyone else is wondering.

I would leave them in the box and slide them down the stairs.

I did this a while back. I think the easiest way is to use a two-wheel dolly. Then you can hold onto the dolly, and go slowly one step at a time. With someone helping, it's not too bad. I wouldn't do it alone though...
