Okay here is the issue. I am moving into a much smaller place than I currently live in. I just bought the 803Di and HTM2Di three months ago so know that if I sell them I will not get what I need. I want to sell my processor, OPPO95, and two amps and buy an Anthem AVR so that I don't have as much equipment in my small living room. Am I crazy? Current amps are Rotel 1080 and 1095. Will I notice a huge degradation in sound quality from my speakers when switching to an AVR?

Yes you're crazy
If there is any room to keep the gear, I would keep it. Maybe it takes a new rack so the equipment can be stacked more efficiently? I just don't see 803Di's having enough juice being run off an AVR, it'll be a serious step down. Plus, a new rack is cheaper than selling stuff at depreciated values.
My 2 cents. Oops, can't say that anymore, Canada has stopped production of the penny.
My nickles worth.

if u have smaller room, u can consider selling Htm2D and buy a Htm4D instead. the Htm2d is huge. it will feel crowded in a smaller room.
selling the 1080 and use 1095 for 5.1 channel. a smaller room 5.1 is more than enough.
ideally, u can upgrade 1095 to better 5 channel amp like classe, bryston or others.
which processer are u currently using? upgrading that might help sound quality, too.- Bottom

Update. I hooked up my 803 Diamonds to my Anthem MRX-300 and what do you think I found? Just like everyone thought including me my speakers sounded like they had mufflers on them. Definitely a major step backwards regarding the dynamic range of my precious B&W's.
Now I think I will just sell my Rotel amps and go with a three channel amp to drive the LCR. Any suggestions on good used amps to buy would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Parasound, they have a new 3 channel that will have plenty of current for your rig. Parasound is used by Lucasfilm, Pixar, Sony, 20th Century Fox, etc - I use Parasound JC1's and I wouldn't replace them with anything short of a Musical Fidelity TITAN. Good luck.Originally posted by mpauline

If you want just a AVR which I think your crazy for doing with said speakers , look into NAD T787 which has a lot of power and probably will drive them ok in your small room. I'm still not completely in on this idea but at least this way you'll have some clean power.
Arcam is another to check out , check out model AVR600.
Another good choice is finding a used Pioneer Elite SC-09TX which has a lot of power ICE amps and still one of the finest AVR's ever made. You could also check out a Denon AVR5808Ci used which is ok lacks dynamics but might sound good in your small room.
You might be better off just selling everything as I'm getting slightly depressed thinking of a AVR to sun those beautiful speakers you own. Then getting a pair of CM9's or a entire CM set for your small room. They are better suited for AVR duty then Diamonds- Bottom

by ChuckaI have been auditioning 804di and 803di's in a number of different dealers, with different rooms and electronics. My wife prefers the larger physical size of the 803's to better match the scale of the room and other items in the room but does not like to looks of the 802's. The system, which will...-

by jjahshik32Ok this guy I know is selling me a rotel rmb-1095 that's cosmetically damaged, just bent a little on the side and a lil dent on the top but other than the casing being damaged the power amp works fine with no problems. And he's selling it for 750, you guys think its a great deal??-

by britroverLooking to get RMB-1095 for my Kef XQ5 floor standers and looking for advice if this would be a good combo.
These speakers sound little bright with my Harman Kardon AVR-235 and I’m looking for a amplifier to fix this issue.

by UFObusterI'm thinking of going separates next. I wish I could afford a separate 2 channel system but not now.
I have the Rotel rb-1080 2 channel amp running my front mains (klipsch rf-7) with a Yamaha AVR to complete a 5 channel surround system. I really like the two channel performance of my...-
