    800 Diamond Spike kit flaw

Today i finally decided to put my diamonds onto the spikes. It turned out to be a fruitless mission. Not one of the spikes adapter plates would align into the screw holes. The castors fit perfectly. It appears the holes on the spike adaptor plate are incorrectly positioned, basically too close to the center, thus not allowing the screws to align with the speaker base plate.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is nobody using their spike kits ?

Oh well first thing in the morning time to call the dealer.

It definately is the included spike kit adapter plates as they dont fit my HTM1D either. Amazing the the holes seem to be off by 3/4 of a mm per hole.

Time for an update. B&W sent a replacement spike kit all the way from the UK, however it was a butchered kit. Someone merely drilled out the holes bigger and made a mess of it. I kicked up a fuss as this was not acceptable for such a "premium" product. The next day i had an apology email directly from the Uk.

A week later my 3rd set of spikes arrived and thankfully they fit. Included was another letter of apology and a B&W P5 headphone from the factory.

A nice gesture, however it should not have been necessary if the QA was up to scratch on two accounts. Most importantly it is all fixed and i have a new P5 headphone.

Everybody have incompetent employees, and everybody makes mistakes. At least they handled it nicely in the end

Currently building Zaph's SR71 and matching stands. First primer coat on drying on sands as I type. Having difficulty deciding how to spike the stands.

With my sub, PE's 10" Titanic, I quickly learned pointy spikes + wood floors = disaster and the separate floor plates are a joke...

What's the best way to move the 802s once you have the spikes on them!?

I just bought a couple maple plinths for under the 802Dis... I'm going to put the spikes on the speakers and then get them up on the plinths.

Now to compensate with spikes and wood (ie not good).... WKHanna is making me machined Aluminum discs with small divots in them for the spike...

To Spike Or Not To Spike ?

My Prattquake sub was shipped to me with the spike isolators attached. I had never used spikes before so went ahead and set up the sub as is. However, after playing LOTR Return Of The King, I could hear the sub rattling during the extreme low end scenes, of which there are plenty in this film. I also...

I have B&W Nautilus 802's and an ASW4000 Sub and am looking for floor spike solutions for them both. B&W no longer supplies feet or spikes for these and could not even tell me how tell the feet are supposed to be for the sub.

to spike 803S or not to spike 803S
                by ninja12
I have my HTS set up in my basement. The is cement with carpet on top of the cement. I was wondering if I should spike my 803S. I'm concerned about the spikes making contact, through the carpet, to the cement floor can causing a negative impact to the sound. Is it ok to spike them or should I just...
