    Will size matter

I really want to get the 802D, but space maybe an issuse as I posted in a earlier post. So having said that would anyone know any advantage to maybe buying the new 803ds vs buying the 802D. I assume the new 803DS are suppsoe to have better technology in them, so does anyone know if they will sound as good as an old pair of 802D.

    Thanks

I don't think anyone can say until they audition them side by side, which as far as I know has not been done yet. Given that the 802D is not made anymore it may never be done. I think unless the test is done back to back in the same room with the same equipment everything will be subjective.

My general feeling is that the 802D should still be an improvement over the 803Di for mose. That said, room has a lot to do with it. If you don't have the space you might be better off with a smaller speaker..

      B&W 802D vs new 803Di
      by bigchief
Any opinions on if a new set of 803Di would be better than buying a used set of 802D in overall sound quality. Just curious becsaue I believe the price is going to be really close. I can get a used set of 802D about 8500-9000 plus shipping fees, and i think a new pair of 803Di run around 9K is this...

      B&W 803D Versus 802D Review
      by beden1
Well, I spent over 3 hours at the Classe/B&W dealer today to demo the SSP-800 for the first time, as well as to compare the 803Ds to the 802Ds once again.

For this post, I eliminated the section of my Classe SSP-800 review that I posted in the Classe Forum section.

      802D vs 803D - A personal impression
      by Aussie Geoff
      Hi,

I got my local B&W dealer to set-up an extended, private comparison between the 803D and the 802Ds... Same amp. music and room... The system was based on McIntosh 602 amps (600W a channel) with the McIntosh pre and CD player. Incidentally I liked the amp but felt that the pre

For reasons that I explained in another post I am considering a purchase of some 803Ds (for a second system).

      802D Surround System Help
      by JKalman
I recently traded in a complete 7 series surround system (and quite a bit of extra cash) for a pair of 802Ds (needless to say, I couldn't be happier...). I am now saving up for a full surround setup and could use some advice on a few different choices.

I am considering the HTM2D for...
