          krisimoni,

Beautiful. I do love McIntosh and B&W's. A very nice sight. I imagine the tube amp with the B&W's is SMOOOOOOOOOTH.

          PS Welcome to the forum!

            htsteve,

Thank you and thanks! I’ve been lurking on the forum for a while but never found time to join. Now that my job will be taking me on the road for the next 18 months I figured it would be a fun way to pass the time with others who share my enthusiasm for this hobby. If I can’t be home listening at least I can talk about audio with other hifi folks.

I also love the McIntosh & B&W combo. You are correct they are quite smooth together. I had read that the B&W’s did not do well with pace, rhythm and timing (PRAT), when matched with tube gear. However, I auditioned the 802 diamonds in an all McIntosh system and found this not to be the case. If I heard any shortcoming at all it would be the appearance of a touch less transparency in the lower mids when compared with the Thiel CS3.7 with which I was A/Bing them. In every other regard I thought they performed splendidly. Not bad at all given the company they were keeping.

I made a good choice. Since I really never listened to the 802Ds the only thing I can compare them to is my old Matrix 802s. The new speakers have much better high end and low end and the sound stage is incredible. I really couldn't be happier
