I used a 6bsst for my current front end. Sound was very up front, bottem end was incredible, some female voices though leaned on the bright side. After switching to the Emotiva, I certainly lost a little bass up front but I have a much warmer sound which is what I was looking for..plus my SVS takes care of the missing bass....Samsung UN60C6300 | Primare SP32 | Primare A30.7 | Oppo BDP-103 | PS Audio Quintet | AppleTV | ELAC 247 Black Edition | ELAC CC 241 Black Edition | B&W DM 600 S3 | SVS PC 13 Ultra | Straight Wire Virtuoso | Harmonic Technology Pro 9's | Black Sands Power Cords- Bottom

Sorry, I haven't checked this forum in a while.
I still absolutely LOVE them. I'm powering them with an XPA-5 and recently obtained a Denon 4311 for processing. It has the new Audyssey XT 32 and I just don't know how it could get any better.
Wait, yes I do. I'm now venturing into the DSX Wide territory. Just need to run some wire to the new spots. I'm thinking CM5's for this job. They will aesthetically and tonally match the CM9's and CMC2 center. Only problem is that they are hard to find used. I don't want to pay new if I don't have to.- Bottom

by HammieMy next upgrade will be a pair of B&W CMW DS8 inwall surrounds. They can be changed from bipole to dipole via a 12v trigger. My question is how easy is this to do? Will the trigger in my Denon 3808 work? Will I need another external trigger?
Secondly, if I run 12/4 speaker wire to...-

by whoaru99Currently I'm using DefTech bipolar speakers for my surrounds, I presume it would be relatively easy to convert them to dipole by changing the phase of one set of drivers in each speaker.
Would this conversion, assuming it is as simple as I seem to think, cause any negative reactions...-

by mdavisHi everyone!
I've not posted here in some months, but I've been lurking and reading.
I was at one point locked on getting a pair of 804s, but budget constrains now have me looking more in the direction of either a pair of 703s or CM9s. My room is 19 1/2 feet long and...-

by gilWhich is better in a 7.1 setup using a Lexicon processor? I notice that a few recommend near full range towers or side subs. I can't squeeze in towers on the sides, so it needs to be wall or shelf mounted. I am thinking the bipole operation on a switchable bipole/dipole might better cover a couple of...-
