Are CM7's being discontinued?

I am looking for floor standers to replace my DM601 bookshelves. My local retailer told me CM7's are either being discontinued or a new model of CM7's are coming out soon. Any info?

Also, what is the difference between the CM7 and 685 floor models in performance and price

The CM7 is not being replaced. I haven't heard about any updates either but they are not going away for sure.

The 685 is a bookshelf speaker, did you mean the 683 (or maybe the 684)? The 683 is $1500.00US a pair, the 684 is $1100.00US a pair, and the CM7 is $2000.00US a pair.

The CM series (from CM1 to CM9) had a great success.
(perhaps due to price vs. the serie 700)

I can attest to that. I'm running a strict 2.0 system with a pair of CM9's as the sole loudspeakers, and they are great.

There's another thread which talks about auditioning them against the 600 series, and the CM7s, and my wife and I were blown away by the CM9s.

Maybe there was some kind of confusion. The series that has been discontinued is the 700s not the CM series.
