Hi,
I've just installed the spikes on my 802d speakers. With the help of my wife, it was really straightforward. As I heard many users complaining about the difficulty of the spikes installation, I just want to explain some tips for doing it very easily.
First I reused the original sagex packaging to put around the bottom of the speaker; this greatly helps to flip the speaker on the side. I also used a dick pillow plus a duvet cover to deposit the speaker. This avoid scratching the speaker side and helps for damping.
The procedure is illustrated on the attached picture. So do not hesitate any more to install spikes.
Good luck. Ligald
