    DM 603 s1 vs DM 603 s3

    Hi,

I can get DM 603 s1 (new, probably old stock) or DM 603 s3 (used ones, about 3-4 years) for about the same price. This is for fronts. For the center channel, I am using LCR 600 S3 and DM 602 s2 for rear speakers.

Which one is a better choice and better value for money. Will the s1 match well with the center channel. What are the differences in s1 and s3.

Thanx For all the help guys.

I haven't heard the s1's so I can't really comment on how they compare with the S3s. However, I think you'll get a better match to your LCR 600 with the 603 S3's.

As an aside, I used to own the 603 S3's and I can tell you they are a phenomenal speaker for the price. I sold them to a friend when I moved to 703s, and I still get a chance to listen to them from time to time. They still amaze me. They were also chosen as Stereophile's budget component of the year a few years back.

Get the DM603S3s. It's a better speaker and a better match for your center. There are major differences between the Series 3s and Series 1s. The tweeters in the Series 3 speakers use a better dome and a Nautilus tube. The Kevlar mid-woofers have an improved voice coil assembly and the woofer is wholly better. Lastly the crossovers are simpler and better.

Get the S3. More refined speaker.

            HTM7 a good idea in a 603/602 system?
            by FSonicSmith
My dedicated HT room (which I'm still in the process of completing) will have a Rotel 1056 receiver, a Denon 2910 DVD, two 603 S3s in the fronts, and 2 602 S3s in the rear. I am going to drive my fronts with a separate amp, a McCormack DNA-1, in order to free up the receiver's power supply (I already...

the DM603 S3s or the new 700 Series:704 or 705s (essentially an updated version the CDM NT series) as fronts. Can people tell me if there will be an major audible difference between the 2 and if so, is...

            Hi guys,
Long time browser, first time poster.

I have 3 speakers in my setup powered by an Adcom Gfa-6000 5 channel amp. 2 603 S3s and an LCR600. The speakers are set to large on my processor, as I don't have a sub yet.

            Hi -

I have decided to purchase a pair of 802's as my front speakers for a home theater system. I currently have 4 CM4's for my fronts & rears with the CMC as my center channel.

Since the 802's are putting a real dent in the wallet :P , I am considering using my...

Which 600 series better matches the Nautilus 800 series?

I'm currently using a pair of 600 S3 speakers as temporary rears for watching HT. I am thinking about getting a pair of DS6/DS3 to wall mount, but I can't compare which series, S3 or S4, matches the Nautilus series better. I would like to know which series of 600 series speakers would be a better...
