But it seems to be gone now.

That is part of the BS that now deprives some of us of the opportunity to buy high-end cables at mid-fi prices. "Free speech" only applies if someone else isn't picking up the tab. :M Bad-mouthing the guy who pays the bills and cleans up the mess is pretty effing adolescent.
Audiokarma encourages 'cable-bashing' , and may be a good place to look for like-minded people. Of course , you may not notice a difference in cabling if you're using 40-yr. old receivers and 35 yr. old speakers and calling it "hi-fi".
Honestly , I think you have excellent taste in bikes and cars , but your manners are a little light. My $.02
