I have my HTS set up in my basement. The is cement with carpet on top of the cement. I was wondering if I should spike my 803S. I'm concerned about the spikes making contact, through the carpet, to the cement floor can causing a negative impact to the sound. Is it ok to spike them or should I just leave the spikes off?
to spike 803S or not to spike 803S

Ninja,
Actually, you want the spikes to make contact with the cement. If you are pretty sure you know where you want the speakers, go for it. :T
I have a cement slab with carpet, and all my equipment racks and speakers are spiked. They are all touching cement, and the speaker spikes, did improve the sound.

I use rubber under the pennies to isolate vibrations.Originally posted by wgrielI would think pennies could still scratch hardwood? In any case, if the spikes are not anchored to the floor, what benefit would they be over using rubber feet?Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil, and you're a thousand miles from the corn field."Dwight D. 1) What exactly are they supposed to isolate from? Why does this matter? The only thing I can assume is transference of low level energy...-
