Has anyone listened and compare these two? How much different is it? I'm looking at some used N803 (cheaper that way for my budget).

Used N803's are around $2600-$3200 depending on color/condition and the 803S is now $6000. The S series is definitely not $3k+ better. The s has slightly improved bass and a revised tweeter that gives better highs. I heard both of these speakers side by side (use to own N803's) and the differences were so minute. Yea its nice to have the improved bass buts its not worth the extra $3k cost.dan87951

On the cheap end I would do a Rotel RB-1080 on the higher end I always like Classe stuff. The older Classe stuff can be a real bargin sometimes..dan87951

I have seen a lot of glowing reviews for the older N803 speakers but not much on the newer 803S's, at least not yet. I recently purchased the 803S's but I never got the opportunity to hear the N803's. Has anyone compared the two? What did you think? Are the "improvements" really better?... -

Im looking around on audiogon for some 700s... And I ultimatly want 804s or 803s. But I noticed that I can find N803s for a little bit more than the newer 700s.... so would you go for the N, or just save a little more and buy the newer 800s? For me the 703s are much easier to get, and I love the way... -
