Now you get to play with speaker placement. Once you get them where they HAVE to go play with the toe in before you get your spikes it's all in tweeter direction. Try toe in set to tweeter direction 2ft outside each shoulder in normal listening position. Then try pointed directly at EACH EAR not your face. I think you will find about a 3 inches out side of your shoulders very good at least that what mine came out to be with my room acoustics. When doing this use familiar songs on different CD's cause the main vocals will switch from dead center on various. Pick the middle of the road balance point. Also check midrange screw on back of speaker make sure after shippng it is as tight as you can get it with two fingers no wrenchs. Use two fingers index and the buisness finger as fork and torque. Congratulations I like mine in Black ASH also.

nice :T .... so are you planning on running the 4bsst bi-amping one speaker and the 7bsst bi-wire the other? that will work but probably sound different.

well funny you should ask. I am driving my 802D with a 4B-SST also. Now I have considered purchasing another 4B-SST and bi-amping the mains and purchasing a 3B-SST and bi-amping the center.
Then I read that splitting the signal from the pre/pro with a Y splitter will degrade the signal. After much thought and reserching if you dont have a pre/pro that has channel outputs for by-amping you are better off with a pair of mono blocks.

I am going to just stay with the 4B-SST till I am ready to make the plunge to a pair of MC501s.

                  Do you toe in?
                  by tboooe
Hi, as I was fiddling around with my speaker set up this weekend I discovered that I prefer virtually no toe in. I find that by having no toe in my soundstage greatly expanded horizontally. Separation between the instruments was also much better. An unexpected affect was the increase in the soundstage...

                  1056 w/ Bryston 4BSST
                  by Trash
I'm looking into possibly trying out the new Rotel RSX-1056 for a new system and using it to power the center and rear channels. I am also considering going relatively 'big' for the L/R mains with a Bryston 4BSST.

This results in a pretty big split between the center and mains (75 watts...

                  Halo A21 vs. Bryston 4bsst
                  by dennyl
Has anyone extensively compared these amps with a good source and set of speakers? I am under the impression that the A21 is somewhat mellow in character whereas the 4bsst is extended but smooth. Also, both seem pretty equivalent in terms of power delivery. I will be using it with a pair of Thiel ...

                  BRYSTON 3BSST or 4BSST for the 805s
                  by dinyaar
                  Hi guys,
Have the 805s+ BP 6pre and 3BSST power combo and it works fine.
The dealer suggests i go in for the 4BSST.
                  Wouldn"t a 300 wpc be overkill for my 805s?
Since ive had the 3B for a week he says i just pay the difference in new retail and take the 4B and never change...
