    which mac amp for N804

I have seen people use all the way from mc402 for 805 to mc205 for 803. I want to get the mc252 for my N804--what do you guys think?

I want to keep using my Arcam AVR300 as my pre/pro.

I woudl take Aldo's word on the 252. Although I've never owned one, I belong to the MC forum and everyone speaks well of this Amp. :T

We to a big Hifi store in Tokyo and expected a huge premium on the Mac, but was plesantly surprised when they offered it for 25% off (at about $3100). My fingers were itching to make the deal, but then I realized the monster will never fit my AV rack

Now I have to put the 25% that I was going to save on a rack lol...

And a new rack means WAF issues....

Now I am in a dilemma. I was all set on getting the MC252, but my receiver (Arcam AVR300) appears to have decided to die on me and getting warranty on Tokyo for a unit purchased in New York has been a bit of a challange.

Now I am set on buying an McIntosh MX120 to replace the AVR300 (110 wpc) but that means I cannot use receiver amps (the MX120 is a pre/pro) to drive my center (B&W XTC).

I really cannot afford to get 2 Mac amps along with a receiver so the choices are either get the 252 and put away the center for the time being or get the 205 for quite a bit more, which I can just about manage.

My concern is the MC252 has autoformers and is rated 250wpc while the 205 is rated 200 wpc (and no autoformers).

Do you guys think with the N252 there will be a noticeable differences in the output of the N804 compared to the mc205?

                      803Di/HTM2Di; what is best, MC252, 205 or 303?
                      by dukester
Currently using NAD T785 (150wpc in stereo) to drive 803Di/HTM2Di fronts; very good sound, but not the warm/liquid Mac sound i prefer (should have never said yes to "wanna hear how a mac sounds?")...segue

Looking into getting a MC252 but had some questions. Wondering if the...

                      Want more bass with N804
                      by akhter
Current setup is AVR300 (110w) going into a pair of N804. Budget is about 2-3k. Would I get better bass with a velyo DD10 (1000w I think, which seems overkill), or by getting a more power amp. If going down the poweramp route, how much power can the N804s really handle--i know it says 200w on the manual....

Thinking about pulling the trigger on the mc252 for my 805S

Would I see a huge difference with the mc252 as to my rotel RA-985 poweramp?

I found one in excellent condition for a great price...

Anyone here that jumped to the mc252 from any other gears that own the 805S or even the 800 series?? I would appreciate any input on this...

Rotel RSP-1069 VS McIntosh MX119 Processors

                      Hey All,

Need advice from the trusty board. Currently I have a Rotel RSX-1057 and am using as my Processor powering my MAC MC205. With a budget of $3000 I can get either the RSP-1069 or a used MX119.

I will be connecting the processor to my PS3 via HDMI for the RSP1069...
