Was thinking that it would be a good idea to use 3 HTM1D'S as the mains in a constant hight 2.35 front projection setup. I don't like acoustically transparent screens (oxymoron) and would never place speakers behind one (or use one). When using a 2.35 screen it could be almost as wide as the room while keeping the left and right at a closer to optimum angle by placing them under the screen like the center. You would also have a 100% timbre match.
Thoughts about using 3 HTM1D's across the fronts.

My local B&W dealer has a setup like this... I think it sounds very good for HT. I haven't spent time with it on 2 CH.- Bottom

Yes but the sound stage of the center is already low so the L&R will actuality match the center better, since you can't have the center match the sound stage of tower mains. :TOriginally posted by Kal RubinsonYup and a low sound image.

So what about the center sound stage being too low M9?Originally posted by chinetsSound stage will be toooooooooooooo low M8 !!
You need floor standers for L&R front to get exquisite HT ( That is my honest opinion) ,as I am reallly into 5.1 and 7.1 Multichannel and HT!!
I would ask B&W this question !!

It will average out a bit. Of course, I prefer 3 802Ds and just don't bother with a video screen. :BOriginally posted by WilliamSo what about the center sound stage being too low M9?

M8 stands for mate !!
Anyway, You will be loosing valuable sound ,as center speaker perform differently than floor standers ,and will sound differently ,asfor Music on DVD or SACD or DVD-A the sound will be very low and less full and the sound stage will sound very small and the highs will not be as dispursed as you would want. Now, if you really have a serious problem because of space ,and have to do it that way by hook or by crook, then better 3 HTM1D than Bose.. Right ?? But to get a fuller and larger stage ,you would be better of placing 2 floorstanders preferably 802Ds on the sides of your screen and 1 HTM1D in the center ,and you'll get a better sound and a better picture sound stage !! That is IMHO (in my honest opinion) just In case  M9!!
Cheers and Good Luck !!

by bjmmyI’m planning on building a new center and front speakers and have been pointed in the direction of the Natalie P design for fronts and the upcoming “matching” WTMW center. I was just wondering if there is anything else out there you would recommend in the same price range (or lower) and why....-

by jjahshik32I own the B&W 805s as my fronts but thinking about using the B&W Nautilus HTM 1 as my center and fronts. Do you guys think that the B&W Nautilus HTM 1 will serve well as fronts and to put my 805s as rear? I hear that the B&W Nautilus HTM 1 sounds just the same as the 804. I guess...-

by mihaeliI was in the process of acquiring the DM601 surrounds to go with my 603 fronts but now I understand that BnW has new version of the 600 series. Please advice whther I should go with my initial idea or it might be worth to get the new rears. Another idea would be to try to trade-in my 603 for the 684...-
