best non-signature match for the old nautilus signatures

i now have a signature htm and signature scm surrounds, i love the way they sound and their stunning tiger eye finish and would like to keep them for a long time, i won't have the space or money for signature 800 fronts any time soon so i am wondering what you guys think would be the best match for floor standing fronts: the old nautilus 803 or the new 803S?

i have the impression that the signature series is kind of a hybrid between the two, an intermediate phase in the design process that culminated with the new 800 series, so which is it closer to, old or new?

i suppose the ideal match would be signature 805s and stereo subs, but i like having floor standing fronts

thanks in advance for your input

I would actually say another pair of Signature SCM's!!! Matched with front subs of course.... I wasn't a fan of the 805, but the signature 805 was another story... bigger magnets and the same 4kHz crossover as most of the nautilus 800 series. Sig 805 or SCM can't go wrong IMO...

I would not get the 803... go for 803S... the tweeter will be more similar since Sig. series sort of took the nautilus 800 series to a slightly higher level... and then the new 800 series more or less incorporated all the advancements of the sig. tweeter.

2 more Signature HTM's would be my choice so you have a trio of Signature HTM's across the front if space permits.

          thanks for the input guys

jlee, the range on the sig scms just seems a bit too limited to be used as fronts, will keep my eye out for a good value on a used pair of sig 805s

chinets, ending up going with the 803S, easy to order and will have more versatility down the road assuming i end up switching to a full 800 series system at some point

fife, never thought about 3 sig htms for the front stage, interesting idea but space will not allow, plus i think it would be hard to find 2 more htms, i feel like to have found the one

don't have the 803S yet, but i imagine they will make me happy

          cheers

Ah... my thoughts at first as well... until I actually heard them side by side with 805... this is one of the circumstances where specs on paper have to be properly interpreted... the specs are measured a certain way... but the SCM is designed to compensate for those specs when wall mounted... so they actually sound similar (actually BETTER IMO in many ways) than 805 stand mounted... so my recommendation is either Sig805 on stands... but if all wall mounted, then DEFINITELY SCM... it will have the same "range" as the 805 if both are positioned as intended. Good luck!

When I want to bi-amp nautilus 800 speakers is it a good idea to use twice a Classé cam-400 or is it better just to use one cam-400 for each speaker cabinet?

This is my first time posting on this forum, so hello to everyone.

In the past year or so, my interest in audio has been revived by my girlfriend's father who is just about as into it as anyone I've ever seen. Right now, he's into Aerial Acoustic speakers and has that all the way around...

                Hi,

This is my first post and I hope with your help I can make a more intelligent decision regarding the purchase of my first premium HT as well as get some critique on the overall HT.

The specs of my room are 24' (L) and 20' (W), however there is an intrusion on both sides...
