    Rotel 1080 for 602's???

    hi guys,

just wondering if sombody here had a chance already to use the 1080 with the 602's?

is it to much and should just opt for the 1077?

    thanks guys.

    Ric888,

The Rotel RB-1080 is a two channel amp will easily drive the B&W 802s. It will easily drive the B&W 703s for that mater and make a reasonable job of the 805S (not the best but great value). The RMB-1077 is a 7 channel amp that will also easily drive all the above speakers. It is twice the price of the RB-1080. For stereo the two are differnt but comparable (I favour the sound of the RMB-1077 as I like it's dynamics. Also the 1077 could bi-amp the speakers (even the 602s.) You won't go wrong with either choice... If I had to pick one (money not an object) it would be the RMB-1077 (I had both and have sold my 1080)

      Thanks Aussie,

I was looking at that for the purpose of making my system sound better. Offcourse, if i go with the 1080, the 1075 goes with it for a complete multi ch system. but since you already mentioned it, then might as well check for the diff... I was expecting the analog amp would win, guess i was wrong... hehehe!
so better dynamics? I'm gonna check it out...

      Thanks alot my friend.

        Hi Aussie Geoff,

        Please advise...thanks

How am I going to improve the music sound quality with my current 5.1 set up? My AVR SR8500, Marantz DV6500 (DVD player), B&W Speaker front704 (L-R), Center LCT600 S3, Rear DM600 S3. Sub ASW600.

I play movie using the Marantz DV6500 DVD player and it is perfect. :T However play music CD using CD6500, sound quality not that satisfaction.

Should I add a separate CD player (only for music CD) + Intergarted amp in this case? Or do you have any other suggestion.

        Thanks in advance.

dondon, your system is fine. Are you using analog or digital out for CD playback.

I can not see that a dedicated cdp will improve things that much.

For music my next step would be to go B&W 80x, then only start thinking about cdp and seperates........my opinion.

Hello. I'm new here, but i'm reading the posts here a long time. Now i registered, because i have an important question or is it only important for me?

This post is a bit lengthy, but I wanted to get all of my thoughts in. I recently purchased a Rotel 1077 amp. Below are my impressions after about 3 weeks. First, to give context to the 1077’s performance, I want to quickly review were I was and how I got to where I am now. I have B&W N804’s...

I was ready to pick up a sunfire cinema grand 200x5,when i ran accross a rotel rmb1077 costing a little more than the sunfire. The rotel i know is only 100 x 7 but how would it compare to the wattage of the sunfire.Reason i ask is that there seems to be a raving about the 1077 even though it's only 100watts.Does...

                  My RMB-1077 review.
                  by Kevin D
I've waited a while to post this, because I wanted to really run through the paces. My old system consisted of a RSP1098, RMB1095, a RMB1066 (with four channels bridged for center rears), and a RDV1040. The new system has a new 1098, the 1077, and a RDV1050.

So aside from the 1050 (that...
