I listened to various speakers: Thiel Cs 2.4's, Paradigm reference, ML vantage and 804S/803D/802D
They were all good but Of all the spkrs, 802 D's with classe 5200 5 channel amp and Classe 300 preamp and classes dvd was excellent. Very musical, excellent vocal clarity, deep bass and really felt a big jump in sound quality when compared to other brands and also when comparing them to 804 S and 803D
The Dealer's room is a decent sized room with no treatments and it sounded wonderful. I am no audiophile. I can't detect minor variances between speakers but The sound from 802 D and classe electronics was really amazing . I listened in Stereo mode
I am inclined to get the above spkrs and electronics and I know it is a pricey setup when U include center and rears. I am going from a basic setup to a very high end, kind like from corrolla to Porsche 911 I guess. Some people have mentioned room acoustics make a big difference and that makes me re-think how they will sound. Mine is a large room: 25 by 15 feet wide room with vaulted ceiling the first 7 feet and then the room height becomes 8 feet thru the remaining length of the room and I have wall to wall carpeting. I will be about 14-15 feet away from the spkrs and the spkrs will be about 10 feet apart and 2 to 2.5 feet away from front and side walls. Behind my couch is a small dining area making the length of the room 25 feet
I have noticed My room doesn't sound bad with my current spkrs. I am hoping the 802D's will sound as good as what I heard at the dealer. Is it a fairly good assumption or could I be in for a surprise ?
Ofcourse one dealer said B&w spkrs are designed to sound very musical in regular family rooms
Your Advice will be appreciated
