B&W PV1 vs Definitive Technology Supercube II

Spent considerable time this weekend evaluating the PV1 (dealer demo) and my Supercube 2. Here are brief comments. I'll get into more details if there are questions.

Expectations: matched with my 804s, PV1 would be better for music, Supercube 2 better for HT (music matters most to me).

After listening to Stanley Clarke, Diana Krall, Peter Gabriel and the Incredibles (dvd movie)....I prefer the Supercube 2.

Yes the PV1 is very fast and tight....but it seems to overlap the 804s. The Supercube goes lower and compliments the 804s. It may be a touch slower than the PV1, but it sounds very smooth.

Listening during the rocket launch seen in the Incredibles was much more enjoyable with the Supercube....it loves volume!

    Feedback welcome.

Oh, just bought a second Supercube 2. Will test a stereo setup this week and report.

        804 with PV1 Sub ?
        by Edgeyboy
I have a pair of 5 year old 804s (not S Model). I am thinking of buying a sub to underpin the 804s, and like the look of the PV1.

Is it up to the job ? Will it provide the subtle underpinning I am looking for ?

I only listen in 2 channel mode btw.

        Many t...

Anyone have any experience with these? Opinions?
Im looking at the SuperCube Reference, 14" sub with two 14" radiators and 1800 watts. My plan is to get one sub, and poss a second down the road to balance it out.

I have been debating between these 2 subs.I was all set to get the supercube2 when i began hearing that it may be too small for my room.My room is 22.5 x19.5 x8'.I can get the mirage or the supercube for about the same price.I really wanted a small sub that would do the job but now i have concerns.I...
