    Def Tech SuperCube subs?

Anyone have any experience with these? Opinions?
Im looking at the SuperCube Reference, 14" sub with two 14" radiators and 1800 watts. My plan is to get one sub, and poss a second down the road to balance it out.

At 111 lbs, it sure seems like a beast! Im gonna see if I can get to demo one locally, but I am unsure if that will be an option. Ive read great things about Velodyne and others, Id like a B&W ASW850, but i just cant spend that much on a sub right now.

So pricing aside, (I guess im not looking for others to say if your gonna spend that much go with XXX brand, i wont be paying retail) just looking for opinons on Def Tech subs in general, The SuperCube Reference is the most likely option..... Or the SuperCube Trinity Signature......

I can't offer any info on Def Tech but I'm also looking at subs as part of an upgrade in the next few months. What I'm looking for mostly is low distortion at low frequencies and also a sub which will keep me happy for a long long time. This thread may be of some help: http://www.avtalk.co.uk/forum/index....0&SQ=0&start=0

I seem to be favouring the Velodyne DD12 and DD15 at this stage. I'm not sure which one of these I prefer. Or there is the option to get 2 DD12's. Decisions, decisions :??

    Good luck though

Yea, i was checking those out, and im sure they are quite awesome!
But for the cost of 1 used DD15, I could get 2 Def tech SuperCube Reference subs new, and have several hundred $$ left in my pocket.

Id love the grab a piano black DD though!!!!
      *checking out thread now*

You COULD make a piano black sub the DIY route... it would surely be within budget. I guess though if you can get a good discount on the DefTechs then go for it!

Im running two ref cubes :T
          Plenty of air movement ;x(
          solid and controlled bass :B
          Great with music

With two subs placement is critical, also it will take some time tweeking them and your room treatments to get the most out of
          them!!!

          Good luck

          Cheers

Sub build questions : What driver do I pair with a Def Tech SC2 plate amp?
            by aarijk
            Hello,
I have a Def Tech SuperCube 2 amp plate that I would like to build off. I've never done a speaker/sub build and wanted to get opinions on drivers that would work well with this. Based on what I've read so far, I am leaning towards a down firing 12" - 15" sealed sub. I will be...

            Hi,

Newbie here and planning to save up for my home theater. I got a good deal on the Anthem PVA7 amp from a Montreal dealer that I couldn't pass up (it is an amazing amp for two channel...what a surprise!!). I am thinking of purchasing the AVM20 next year.

            The dilemma...

Has anyone had experience with the def tech ProCinema systems? I'm partucularly interested in the ProCinema 100. These will be matched with Marantz 5500. I've also been looking at the Paradigm Cinema series.

I would like to keep the speakers small but retain some feel of larger sytems....

            Def Tech Pro 80 vs. B&W VM1 - which?
            by pcrocett
I installed the Def Tech ProMonitor 80s with (Sub and center) about 10 days ago. Depending on the source, sometimes they sound fantastic, other times not stellar (perhaps I don't have the crossover right yet). They sound nice with Jazz and Classical, but just ok with Pop. (99.9% of my music comes...
