    General ASW800 sub question

When I get my sub I will need to get a cable. I have seen the cables with the 2 jacks on one end ( for sub) and single jack for pre end. Why 2 jacks for sub end and only single jack for pre end (and does it matter if pre end is R or L channel - and, if not, why). A noob trying to understand. Thanks. :T

In my experience, it doesn't really matter which input you use, although some purists do advocate using a "Y" splitter and going into both left and right inputs

So then it does not matter which output I use from the pre - R or L?

miner, as advised in one of my previous posts, I strongly recommend that you download the ASW800 Owner's manual from B&W's web site. In that manual you will see that you need 2 RCA cables between your preamp and the sub, and 2 RCA cables between the sub and your amp.

If you can't find the Owner's Manual, drop me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a copy.

          mains & sub suggestion
          by miner
          My current set up:
          Rotel RC-1090 pre
          Rotel RB-1092 amp
          B&W N804 mains
          B&W ASW800 sub

Currently sub is connected directly to pre and sub corssover set at 60Hz. Mains get full signal from amp. Pre is hooked up to amp with one set of ICs and sub is hooked...

CAP 2100 used as pre + biamp !!??
          by gerardhn
          Hi,

I read in a German magiaine an interesting article. It was not tested for Classe, but for some others. The conclusion was:

An (amplifier + end amplifier) in horizontal biamping mode is much better than (pre + end amplifier) combo and worth the price difference of (amplifier...

I hope you guys can help me out with this. I just started to play around with my Kenwood SW-X1 (I guess it was Kenwoods high end) sub that I want to use in my Living Room until I finish the rest of my DIY stuff. I have tried a couple different placements on the right side of the entertainment center....

          Bag End Sub
          by javis
Has anyone out there had the opportunity to audition the
BAG END INFRUSUB-18. I have not had the opportunity as there are no Australian dealerships. All the reviews I have read and endorsments by top musicians are positive. They are suggesting it is arguably one of the most musical subs on the...

          Hi Folks,
First let me say hello! My name is "Rich" and I am new to the HT Guide site. I'm 60 years old, and from 1980 to 1990 I was an avid audiophile that could never afford the equipment I wanted but managed to afford a complete "2nd or 3rd class" setup of components that...
