    Break in suggestions

I somehow managed to pick up a pair of completely unused - still in factory plastic with cardboard in place - 805 Matrix.
They will be used for the side surrounds.

    Suggested method of break-in?

I was planning on hooking them to the front main channels and do a 2-channel stereo break in. How long? What volume? What music? I do not have access to a pink noise cd.

    B&W 804 (side surrounds)
    B&W 805 (rear surrounds)

rkburton, i have always found break-in time, some what a waste of time. okay, your brand new speakers need time to adjust, but why all the fuss? just enjoy them and play music you like and at the level you like. if anything is going to break then this is the time to find out.

Equipment "breakin" all in our heads?
      by hal
When I hear people discussing the impact of "breakin" on their listening experience I often wonder whether this is not simply dependent upon the time it takes our ears to adjust to a new reality. If you've ever had your ears cleaned out of wax buildup you will notice a very dramatic change...

Break-in requirement of 1072 CD player and 1068 processor. Also HDCD suggestions
      by spkerguy
      Hello everyone,

FIrst of all I'd like to say thank you to everyone on this forum for their help in my purchasing decision of the Rotel 1068 processor and 1072 CD player. It should be arriving at my dealer probably mid-week I guess. What are the break-in requirements (how long...

      804s Breakin
      by bullitt731
I am upgrading to the 804s and HTM3s in my front end. To do this I have had to sell my 1080 amp which was paired with my 1056 receiver. I will be buying the new Rotel separates when they come out at some point. I know the 1056 is not enough power to really make these speakers sing but does it have enough...

      Breakin time?
      by mr_m687
I hooked up my B&W 804S's yesterday for the first time and gave them a good 5 hour listen. They sounded good a little on the bright side but better than my old Paradigm 7's. I'm wondering what changes other owners have noticed during breakin with their new speakers. I think they are great so...

      CD Player requires breakin?
      by akhter
Or am I just imagining things (quite possible).

Last week I got an Arcam CD73T after comparing it with the Arcam CD192/Linn Genki/Naim CD5x, and found the entry-level arcam to be the best value by a long-shot. All the other players were similarly priced ($1700-1900), and the Arcam gave...
