703 vs 805

Dear all,

i'm torn between keeping my exising nautilus 805 or changing to the 703 floor-standers. Would the 703s be an upgrade over the 805; if so, in what way? my listening is 80% HT, 20% music

For home theater use...as long as you have a good subwoofer I wouldn't waste your money on 703. In my opinion you would be downgrading...

For PURE 2 channel stereo, then you might have an argument with purchasing the 703.

Keep the 805's if your music/HT split is 80/20.

I'd just keep the 805s, but get the best sub you can afford. I think you have the best of both worlds there already. The 805s w/ a musical sub can fool you to thinking that you're hearing full-range 2 channel, given that you tweak the sub settings to blend in with the bookshelves. For movies, just crank up the sub couple notches, and you'll have great impact on the LFE.
