I have read up in the past that your starting distance, stereo setup should be about 1.5m apart. One begins widening the gap from there to find the best positions for the pair?

I would think for optimal positioning with 804S about a 2.5m triangle, and with 802's maybe a 3m triangle - this is normally the distances that I have listened to these 2 models...BUT this also depends on room size, if the room is large those distances may increase...personally I wouldn't put 802's in a room less than 5mx5m - bass may overwhelm and become boomy?

is there a minimum room size for 802's?
      by tmt
      Hi there,

I'm going to build a house. Luckily my girlfriend said I should use a separate room where I could house all my speakers and cinema "stuff". :T
I don't have any detailed plans yet, but I wonder if there is a recommended minimum room size for nautilus speakers....

what Rotel amp is the minimum for driving HTM-1?
      by tmt
I recently did some major upgrades to my stereo/HT system.
I upgraded my main (crappy) speakers to B&W N802 and the center to a HTM-1.
The 802s are powered by a Classe CA-401 which kicks *ss in stereo mode, but the rest of the speakers are still connected to my Denon 3300. That´s...

Minimum Phase and Accurate Crossover Simulation
      by Reet
Minimum phase for a speaker can be described of the phase of the frequency response of the speaker at it’s acoustic centre, or the phase without any excess phase or “time of flight” included. It can be calculated from the speaker’s frequency response using Hilbert-bode transform, or HBT. When comparing multiple minimum phase responses, we can say that the responses occur at the same point in space, ie. there is no physical distance between them. When measuring speakers and processing the...

which of those Classe's is best on the 802s?
      by tmt
First of all my apologies! This is a question about amps - preamps, maybe I should have post this in the audio hideout forum, but since Classe seems to go together with B&W speakers I'll post it in this group.
note: all prices I mention are in euro, but you can substitute it for dollar....

      B&W 802s and Amps
      by JesseRJ
After consulting with many people and this forum's advice, I will not buy a receiver to go with the 802s but, what now? At the moment I am looking into the Aragon Stage One pre/pro and their 3005 amp. Both of these components so far have gotten great reviews and I am trying to find a dealer in Manhattan...
