    7nt handling

How do you suggest handling and moving the 7nt. Its pretty heavy. I watched the dealer pick up the speaker by the hole in the back (dont remember the technical name for the "hole"). Is this safe?

    Thanks

I was just wondering because when i moved the speaker the other day the inner black plastic which covers the vent and extends into the speaker pulled out about three inches. I pushed it back in so it is almost flush with the wood, but am now extremely wary about moving that speaker by holding the vent.

it shouldn't do that... they probably didn't put enough glue at the factory ... at least I THINK glue is what they use .

How far are you moving them? I have the spike feet installed on mine but I slip coins between the feet and my hardwood floor. With the coins in place, I can slide the speakers easily, yet they stay still where I want them.

when the plastic piece pulled out i was merely trying to move it a foot or so. It was in picking up the speaker by the vent that it broke. I put the plastic piece back in and it seems to sound fine. should i get the speaker checked out somewhere? I am just scared to touch the thing now.

I have a pair of CDM 7NT's, which I opted to purchase instead of the new 704's or 703's because: (i) I thought that the midrange sounded superior to the new 700's and (ii) because the...

Bracing the vent - yay or nay ?
              by nodiak
I'm just about to glue the last panels on a Natalie P towers. I'm using a downfiring vent and using simple stick type braces (fr.to back, and side to side) at that area (the rest of cab uses horizontal braces with several 3" and other holes drilled to equal about 10% more than drivers sd). I can...

              CDM 9NT v. CDM 7NT
              by gostan
I currently have 7nt's for fronts and 1 nt's for rears. I have an opportunity to purchase either a pair of used 7nt's or 9nt's. I could then use the 1nt's in my second zone. My existing stereo-ht room is too small for 7.1, but I would then be ready for 7.1 in the future. The 7's have a nice laid back...

              Hi,

i've a very very simple question, what happens when you double the number of your port for a given design ?
