    HDMI question....

My DVD player has suddenly stopped outputting a signal to my television.
It had worked fine for months, then nothing....
The player still works using component cables, but a 'no signal' is what I get on the TV when switching back to HDMI.And I am sure it's the HDMI output on the DVD player,as I have put other components into the TV input and also switched cables.
So my question is,do HDMI outputs suddenly just go bad like this seems to have?

It's possible, but I'm almost more inclined to tell you to check the settings on the DVD player and see if there's something in the setup about HDMI vs Component...??

Maybe something (or someone) switched a setting to have it stop outputing through the HDMI port.

If not, I'd say that most likely the port went bad.

Check the cable connections too. HDMI connectors are pretty flimsy, and maybe it came loose on one end or the other.

1058 HDMI audio shutting off when proj is on.
        by Johan Hendrix
I have a problem with my RSX-1058 and audio over HDMI. When I switch on my projector, sound is turned off. When I switch my projector off or to a non-HDMI input, I have sound again. It looks as if my projector (Pana PT-AE2000) tells the other components that it does not use the sound signal, and that...

        by audioqueso
        Hello Everyone!

I just moved so I picked up a Sony 32" LCD (Bravia series) to watch some movies and tv. I have been playing movies through my laptop and outputing it via the DB15 connection. I received my old Pioneer Elite DVD player last night (snail-mail), hooked it up, and realized...

How I've added HDMI 1.3 high bitrate audio decoding to my Parasound C1
        by Chris D
Quite a thread title, I guess. Perhaps I should subtitle it, "or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb... I mean, theater."

As the title says, I've added HDMI 1.3 audio decoding to my home theater, centered around the Parasound C1 home theater controller. As...
