    Second Sub

I am also considering adding a second Sub-woofer to to gear. Could some-one/any-one tell me the best way to split the signal to both subs and also how the at what level/frequency to calibrate woofers which are not of the same size. A 10" and 15"

    Thanks.

UC while its possible to mix a 10" with a 15" I'm not sure its all that advisable given what are you trying to gain? Almost all the suggestions I've ever seen on doubling up subs is to make then as identical as possible in order to get the most benefits from it. I'd suggest you'd be better off with a single large (better) sub then two mismatched ones. For example you would likely be better off with say a sub like mine and a good power amp vs your 10 and 15 in the same room. Just a thought.

PS I'm coming to Ontario at the end of Feb. (Port Hope and Peterbourgh)

It would be extremely difficult to calibrate equal output from 2 subs with drivers differing so much in size. The 15" would be operating just above idle and the 10" would be running at or above safe operating limits

calibrating two subs with Denon 3801
            by George Bellefontaine
The 3801 only has one line level sub output. I have one sub at the front of the room ( approx 14 feet from my sweetspot) and the rear sub near the back wall and approx 6 feet from my sweetspot. I am using a splitter to run the back sub. I calibrated the front sub with the distance set at 14 feet. To...

            Confused on Sub calibration
            by George Bellefontaine
It was always my understanding that all speakers should be calibrated to the same level. In my case I have 7 speakers and 2 subs and all were calibrated to 75db. But recently I read in a few posts at other HT sites that the sub(s) should be calibrated to 85db and the rest of the speakers at 75db. Seems...

This is something that comes up from time to time, and I've seen people with various opinions. Thought this was interesting, which comes striaght from a newsletter from SVS:

It has taken some real effort but I’ve concluded that two Sunfire subs can be integrated into a high end system better than one. My vinyl buddy on the other hand has concluded that it is not possible. So, here we have two opinions and both are valid and true.

            The Sunfire sub offers...
