    What's that clicking ?

I've only noticed this in the last few weeks. About 20 to 30 minutes after firing up my system ( the projector, the Denon 3801 Receiver and the Sony 7700 dvd player) I hear a clicking sound. I hear it once or twice and then no more until another day. Any ideas ? The sound is coming from my rack, so I am assuming it may be the component's metal expanding. The sound or the picture is not affected, so I am not concerned, just curious.

George something in my rack was doing the same thing and I'm pretty sure it was the Denon as it warmed up. Like you I was never to worried about it since it didn't seem to have any effect of sound or image quality etc. I guess if you can give it more breathing room that might help

That is strange alright. But it probably is expanding of the metal. Strange that you have not noticed it before.

      Well, I hope it's nothing.

        Thanks,fellas.
        Andrew,
My Denon sits on top of the rack, so it has plenty of free space around it.Now the Sony runs warm, so maybe that's what's making the noise.Anyway, I'm just going to ignore it.

I experience the same thing with my Denon5800.
Since everything is as usual I haven't worried about it.

Is this normal, RSP-1098 "Clicking"? and Break in period.
                  by eulogytool
I broke down and and bought the 1098 after months of debating and I am very happy.

First question is: What is the normal break in period for a Pre/Amp to reach it's full dynamic potential?

Second question: I have my gear loaded onto one circuit and when my refrigerator...

My 1098 was working fine when I first bought it. Then a couple of weeks later I bought a RMP-1095 5 channel amp and hooked it up. It worked fine with brief periods of use and then something interesting happened.

When I used it for an extended period of time, my 1098 started making relay...

                  A51 is clicking!
                  by mikepinkerton
My 4 year old A51 has started intermittently clicking on/off the right-most two blue indicator lights on the front panel. Usually this only happens while watching a movie, I haven't seen (or heard) it during normal TV watching. If I put the same movie into "stereo" mode on my pre/pro, it stops...
