    Denon 5800 Upgrade..When?

    Hi!,

    Just wondering if there has been any solid confirmations on the previously announced DPL 2 upgrade for the Denon 5800.
    There seems to have been a few rumors around lately, so just curious if an actual date has been established plus a cost of the upgrade.

      There have been a couple of posts from a German HT show on HTF, and it seems that the 5800 upgrade won't be around until the new year and will be an actual board upgrade, at approximiately $500 U.S.

      This comes from a tech person at the HT show, but at least confirms it is in the works.

      The reason for a new board, as opposed to software update, is that the new modes need improved DSP processing, which is not available on the 5800.

      Also, the upgrade will include bass handling of the 40, 60, 80hz, etc. ilk.

      I read the thread on HTF yesterday, but can't seem to find it today.

          This was pulled off the Denon Canada website.
          Product upgrade was to be available starting March 15.
          I will go through this process at the end of April when we move to the new house.

          Ok so been on the look out for what I'm going to add to my setup as a pre/pro in the next 6 months or so. Well a few days ago Denon put the AVR-4311CI up on their site and after researching I think it's the one.

          Price is ~2k. It's got 9 channels of amps for 9.2. But it has 11.2 channel...

          Hi!,

          There has been much discussion as of late on whether to invest in a 'Seperates' set-up consisting of a dedicated Pre/Pro and seperate amplifiers or a Flagship receiver such as the Denon 5800, B&K 307 ,and Onkyo 989.

          Opinions here tend to sway in both directions...

          The Denon jumped out at me, supporting 6.1 processing, DTS-Discrete, Neo, even DPL2! I was shocked, here a receiver less than...
