    Receiver Upgrade Recommendations needed

    I'm more into home theatre (movies) than into listening to music. I need to upgrade my receiver to manage HDMI inputs, and decode all the current audio formats. My equipment is more than 10 years old. I'd like to sell my Rotel equipment (except for my Amplifier), and my Sony Digital processor.

    i'd like to spend between $1000-$1500 for a new Receiver. Any suggestions?

      What are you looking to achieve with it? What features are most important to you? Plenty of good options in that price range.

          Are you open to used equipment? Say, from audiogon possibly? That will put a lot more options at your disposal.

              Thanks, guys. I landed up buying a Pioneer Elite VX-30, and keeping my Rotel amp. It has all the latest audio format support, and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

              In the future, I would be open to used equipment. My used equipment is in excellent condition, and I hope to find a buyer shortly.

                      I just got the 601 S3. They are great. My receiver is a Sony 940DB rated 120wx5 (It's about 5 years old). I seen a lot of people talk about using Rotels to power their speakers.
