I setup my system with The mic, and It put my speakers on 6 ohms. I can only put it on 6 or 4 ohms. Does any one know how I can change it to 8 ohms?
Onkyo 805 8 ohm?

Does not Matter unless Unit goes into protect mode
All the 4ohm setting does is limit the current output if you have a low impedance speaker hooked up. I would leave it on 6ohm setting unless it goes into protection mode. If it does go into protection mode then turn the unit off and select the 4ohm setting. Limiting the current output is not good for the sound, only good to save the equipment if your low impedance speaker tries to draw too much current."You get what you Inspect, not what you Expect"

by gsiokisAll,
Setting up my 805's on OEM stands, should I add Sand only, Lead Shot only, Sand and Lead Shot mixed or better yet nothing at all?
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

by GumpI know this has been discussed before but I did a search and it's a hard subject to explain to a computer because I couldn't find anything.
How important is it for an amp's wpc to double from 8ohm's to 4 ohm's? Is it really that big of a deal? And I'm talking pure SQ here.

by howburgerI've got the 1068/1095 combo and I'm building a stereo pair of Dipole subs with 8 Atlas 15's. I've just recently discovered the sound quality of the bypass mode listening to CD's. Problem is, I really would like to utilize my new Dipole Subs while using bypass mode. Would it work if I used a Y splitter...-
