    Upgrade-itis

    Hey guys,

I'm still relatively new to the home theater scene. I received my first HT system about 6 months ago, but because I'm in the military I have been gone the last two months and haven't been able to enjoy it. I continually read forums and reviews looking for my next upgrade. My current system is as follows:

    Sony 46Z4100
    Sony BDP-S350
    Denon 2309CI
    B&W 685 Front
    B&W HTM62 Center
    B&W 686 Surround
    B&W ASW 610 Sub
    Monoprice 12 AWG wire

I'm looking to make my next jump with somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500. What should be my first major upgrade??

    Thanks,
    Mike

If I were you I would look at trying to find a great deal on a Rotel RMB 1077 and RSP 1069. Might be slightly over your budget, but you may get lucky. Kevin D is still selling his 1077, and at $800 its a steel.

    That would be major upgrade.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

This post is a bit lengthy, but I wanted to get all of my thoughts in. I recently purchased a Rotel 1077 amp. Below are my impressions after about 3 weeks. First, to give context to the 1077’s performance, I want to quickly review were I was and how I got to where I am now. I have B&W N804’s...

        Rotel's RMB-1077 - A Second Look
        by RebelMan
A week ago I took the opportunity to audition Rotel's newest power amplifier member, the RMB-1077. It was a first impression that... well... didn't impress but it didn't unimpress either. This stands to reason as the competition was rather unfair to start with. The results were hardly surprising...

        And yet another RMB-1077 review...

OK, well not a full review just yet but I thought I would post my initial impressions:

I will first get the list of gear used out of the way:

        Pre-Pro: Parasound Halo C2

Speakers: Totems Model-1's Signature Series. (4 pairs) A pair of Totem Thunders Subs (on...

        My RMB-1077 review.
        by Kevin D
I've waited a while to post this, because I wanted to really run through the paces. My old system consisted of a RSP1098, RMB1095, a RMB1066 (with four channels bridged for center rears), and a RDV1040. The new system has a new 1098, the 1077, and a RDV1050.

So aside from the 1050 (that...
