Should I buy Denon AVR-688 for $175??

I found a Denon AVR-688 open-box at a going-under Circuit City today. It's only $175. I was surprised but maybe this isn't such a good receiver. I'm not looking for anything crazy but I do have 2 HDMI sources (BluRay and my cable box). I plan on using the speaker outputs until I can get my amps finished (DIYer). Is this a viable option or should I just suck it up and spend more for something better?

I have a friend who has that AVR. It's nothing super special, but as long as you can leave the store knowing it works fine, I think I would pull the trigger. I have a AVR-589 as a second AVR in the living room, I think it works out great.
