Oh it's just a combo of an old injury (back surgery- disc removed) + a lot more walking and activity in my new job + lots of hunching over working on stuff lately. Tall + fat = worst combo ever for your back . When I'm done w/the monitors I gotta start getting back to the gym.

Well we decided to go with a different driver for the woofers because we don't have to wait forever for them.... so might be able to get my speakers done sooner...but probably realistically still looking at a month away.

I saw Jed mention he bought a bunch of RS180 drivers. Is he going with the 3 RS180 now?

Well since he mentioned he bought them.... then I suppose its ok lol but yes he's going with 4 RS180's now. He had ordered all the D6.8's that madisound had coming in which was only 24 and it would take another 2 months probably before we could get more and it would be about the same amount. SOOOO just decided it was better to go with something more available.

Sounds interesting. I look forward to seeing this new Maxx ... sounds like Jed is going all out on this one. I'd consider building, but I have this other speaker I want to get going. It will be a line source dipole, 2 way, and probably be better suited to our listening room than a Maxx anyway. The room is pretty dead. It will be my first speaker, so I pray that it works out okay. ;x(

Another amp eventually XPA-2 possibly. Well the XPA-3 would get moved down and XPA-2 on the shelf second to bottom.

So originally I had planned to go with 5.1 but then I decided that my room would work with 7.1. So this posed a problem as I wanted to go 7.1 but I had a 3 channel amp and wanted to get the XPA-2 which left me with 5 channels. Another XPA-2 would add to much money and would be way over kill for a surround amp. So I talked to Dan and he talked to Lonnie and they said they would extend my 30 days for me a few days so that I would get the money I need to exchange it for an XPA-5. So when I do that an XPA-2 will get ordered at the same time :B. Unfortunately I threw out the outer box so now I need to figure out something to do...

My XPA-3 is getting swapped for an XPA-5 so that I can have 7 channels of amplification.

Gives you an idea though The black thing is a projector, white thing is a screen, blue things are speakers, the tan box is the sub box that houses 4 15" Tempest-X's. The brown thing is a fireplace.

Sweet, if you are bringing the XPA-2, no need for the XPA-3/5... Especially at those weights.

Let me know when you are bringing those (amp & speakers), I might bring my B&W 602s and throw them on there just to see how they sound with it as I might get rid of my Rotel RB-1080 for it if I like the sound! :T

Well I think I'll probably be keeping the XPA-3 now. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get the XPA-2. I do want it though but for now I may just run my surrounds off the receiver. I was supposed to have a business deal coming through but its looking like the guy is just screwing with me. The speakers will be coming to Bills whenever we all decide to meet up again. The amp I wouldn't mind bringing over whenever as long as someone comes and picks me up :B

How come there are no emotiva products on ebay, or audiogon? Are they allowed to be sold used?

Yeah they are sold used just not very often. It's not a huge brand.

I just wanted to add that I bought the MMC and IPS and both units were double boxed.

A really great company to work with and with great quality stuff to boot.

                                                            cheers

I have narrowed down my build to a pair of Statement fronts, Statement CC x2 for front & rear centre channel plus 4x Statement Monitors for effect speakers.

I've been a big fan of Rotel products. I have a Rotel RC-1090 and RB-1090 for home. I also had a RB-1092 and RC-1090 that I purchased for my office at work to listen to when working later hours, to give me something to listen to. During a period of time we were relocating our office in another location,...

I am about to pull the trigger on the Rotel 1069, but then I came across the Emotiva UMC-1. The Emotiva unit has not been released yet. However, I am wondering if anyone has listened to some previous versions of Emotiva's...
